HISTORY

Latinrep started operations in 1988. Since the beginning Latinrep has been representing leader companies of the electronic industry world wide giving us the chance to develop the market for a broad type of components; enabling us to keep close contact, and relationship with most manufacturers and design accounts in our region.

Our focus on design wins and sales results has produced a strong and balanced line card, creating a synergy between Actives and Passives components, maximizing market penetration for our principals. The nature of the globalize electronics market and it’s complexity demand a high level of flexibility and teamwork across national borders. Working with CMs and OEMs Latinrep has developed the essential capacity to create the connections and teamwork vital to meet the needs of international design and demand fulfillment requirements. Owing to this business focus, sales success has been achieved in both standard and non-standard product categories. Demand creation on a local basis is at present a major challenge for the Mexican electronic industries. Daily however design capacities in both markets are growing and maturing. Therefore, focus on design wins has become an integral part of our culture. As an ERA (Electronic Representatives Association) member, Latinrep stays abreast with international trends of significance in the Electronics Industry, adapting that knowledge to local market development.

EMS has proven to be a special market segment that must be fully understood in order to implement a successful sales strategy with high market penetration.

During the past 15 years, we have created within the CM’s a network of relationships that has yielded a knowledge of their operations ranging from current assembly projects to understanding how to become a preferred supplier. And be able to increase our share (Splits) in the Bill of Materials.

In addition to supporting the logistics and accounts payable departments, we work closely with the manufacturing engineers of each project to understand their specific needs and the individual requirements of the company whose product the CM is assembling.

The white goods industry is certainly increasing its use of electronics in new design efforts, providing an attractive market. We at Latinrep are committed to serve the white goods industry in their design efforts as well as production.

With 15 million name brand TVs manufactured in Mexico each year, the region is a significant contributor to the world’s total output. This is another important emerging market that is very important in Latin America. The ballast, external lighting and internal lighting market is a mature industry in the country, however in recent years it has begun to utilize more sophisticated electronic controls. Products such as external LED screens, traffic lights, highway signaling and ballast components, which now require more electronic components.
